The Verdants
Order of Patience · Anointed: Chomp
The Verdants tend the border between settled ground and the old green places. Hydra offered them peace that meant silence: seed locked away, paths sealed, lean years treated as someone else's problem. For a while the hedges looked like walls enough. They consented.
Repentance was planting again when the stores were thin, and meeting threats by making ground difficult to take and harder to keep. In the War of Closed Roads their companies defended gardens and sheltered settlements with preparation over display. When peace came, their Vow became Patience: work undertaken for futures the bearer may not live to see.
Chomp holds that Vow now at the boundary of field and wilderness. Verdant accounts say the Anointed keeps refuge from danger and grief from forgetfulness. The form is costly and lifelong. The garden still needs hands.
In the field
Chomp. Chomp can grant a shield to a nearby ally who has none, or eat an adjacent bush to take a shield for themselves. A shield softens one hit, then is gone. Medics cannot restore it.
